Teuku Umar's Submission Tactics

Teuku Umar then sought a strategy to get weapons from the Dutch side. Finally, Teuku Umar pretended to be a Dutch henchman. The Dutch reconciled with the troops of Teuku Umar in 1883. Governor Van Teijn at that time also intended to use Teuku Umar as a way to win the hearts of the people of Aceh. Teuku Umar then entered military service.

When joining the Netherlands, Teuku Umar defeated the defense posts of Aceh, it was done Teuku Umar pretending to trick the Dutch in order for Teuku Umar to be given a bigger role. The tactic succeeded, in compensation for his success, the request of Teuku Umar to add 17 commanders and 120 warriors, including a Pang Laot (commander of the Sea) as his right hand, was granted.
