Teuku Umar Continues Resistance

Teuku Umar distributed weapons of booty to the Aceh army, and led the popular resistance. And Teuku Umar managed to reclaim the 6 Mukim area from the Dutch. Nanta Setia, Cut Nyak Dhien and Teuku Umar returned to the 6 Mukim area and lived in Lampisang, Aceh Besar, which also became the headquarters of the Aceh army.

2 years after the Nicero incident, on June 15, 1886, he arrived at Rigaih ship "Hok Canton" which was sacked by a Danish seaman by Captain Hansen, with the intention of exchanging weapons with pepper. Hansen intends to trap Umar to board his ship, kidnap him and bring a pepper run that will be loaded, to the port of Ulee Lheu, and handed over to the Dutch who have promised a reward of $ 25 thousand to head Teuku Umar.

Omar was suspicious of Hansen's terms, and sent a messenger. Hansen insisted that Umar should come alone. Teuku Umar then set the tactic. Early morning one of the Panglima with 40 of his soldiers infiltrated the ship. Hansen did not know he was under siege.
The next morning Teuku Umar came and demanded the repayment of pepper as much as $ 5 thousand. However Hansen breaks his promise, and orders his men to arrest Umar. Teuku Umar was ready, and beckoned to his men. Hansen was paralyzed and shot while trying to escape. Mrs Hansen and John Fay were arrested as hostages, while the crew members were released. The Dutch were very angry because his plan failed.

The war continued, in 1891 Teungku Chik Di Tiro and Teuku Panglima Polem VIII King Kuala (father of Teuku Panglima Polem IX Muhammad Daud) was killed in the battle. The Netherlands is actually very difficult because the cost of war is too big and long
